BAD SOUNDS HONESTLY

By now you should be pretty familiar with the Bath outfit Bad Sounds, we’ve been covering them since the release of ‘Living Alone’, but in the case that they’ve missed your radar, here’s the rundown… Bad Sounds is a five-piece fronted by brothers Callum and Ewan who found themselves back at the familial nest with new skills in music production and decided to be all productive through writing, recording and producing their music which takes influences from hip-hop, funk, R&B, trip-hop, and a whole load of other wide ranging influences. This summer, Bad Sounds are dropping their debut album Get Better, featuring previous List Pick ‘Banger’ and the recently unveiled ‘Honestly’. As per usual, the sound is playful, bouncing, vivacious and a bit cheeky. Outlying all genres, Bad Sounds combine downbeat drums, vibrant horns, dainty flute, and their deadpan wit to once again form a sound that’s totally their own. Speaking from a close-to-home experience of finding yourself at another party; different place, same people, same problems, but this time you find yourself tired of the game. A dose of honesty and it’s off to bed. With still so many unheard tunes on the upcoming record, we’re fully expecting to hear more from the dynamic five-piece before the LP arrives on August 17th. - Hannah Thacker
